"Daddy, how much money do you make?"

"Mommy, where does money come from?"

"Daddy, how much money do you make?"

"Mommy, what is money?"

"Daddy, can I have money?"

Are parents ready to respond to these questions?? Are kids ready to understand your answers?? Seems like there are more questions than answers! However, what we do know for certain is that financial education should start at home so parents obviously play an extremely important role. What you tell your children will leave a deep impression on their views on money; how they see you manage your finances will have a significant impact on their own money management behavior when they grow up.

When your kids ask you to buy something, take it as an opportunity to explain to them that the things that they want need to be purchased by money, and that earning money is hard work. Simply put, children need to know that money does not grow on the proverbial tree. As the saying goes, 'nothing in this world that's worth having comes easy.' They need to understand the value of hard work, but in a fun way!

There is a theme park located in Taipei called BabyBoss, where children can role play and try out different professions. They will experience what it feels like to earn money by working hard...(for 20 minutes!)

Here is the link... BabyBoss
